Operating principles

How we operate

  • Plain English, always. Every recommendation comes with what it does, what it costs, and what happens if you do nothing. If we can't explain it in terms of your business, we don't understand it well enough yet.
  • Scope and price agreed up front. You get a written scope, a price, and a timeline before any work starts. If something changes mid-project, you hear about it before it affects the bill, not after.
  • What we build, you own. Code, data, documentation, and accounts are in your name from day one. No proprietary black boxes, no systems that stop working if you stop working with us.
  • Built to be handed over. Everything we build is documented well enough for another developer to pick it up. You should be free to leave, not locked in.

We act as your data and technology department on retainer: a set number of hours each month, spent on maintenance, improvements, or new work as your priorities move.

Build & maintain

We design and build the system, then keep it running, patched, and improving under an ongoing arrangement.

Build & hand-over

We design, build, and hand over a finished solution. You own it outright from day one, and you handle maintenance going forward.

Advisory

Not every problem needs something built. We assess what you have, diagnose what's holding it back, and give you a clear roadmap you can run yourself or bring back to us.

A note from our Founder

I grew up in Westbrook, Maine and I've spent the last fifteen years in London, building data and technology solutions for some of the largest companies in the world.

I've stayed hands-on the entire time, designing and shipping custom products, building data platforms and automations with engineers, and now building and implementing AI tools. I can tell you quickly and honestly what today's technology will do for your business and, just as usefully, what it won't.
